Remember: If you set up a lesser resolution than the default, the contents will be displayed larger on your screen. If you do the opposite i.e larger resolution then smaller content will be smaller.

Step #3: Select from the available options in the drop-down menu under Resolution.

Step #4: Confirm your display resolution settings by clicking on the Keep changes. You'll get 15 seconds to keep these settings or it will revert back to the previous screen resolution.

  1. Open FileZilla and go to File > Site Manager.

After connecting, you'll see two columns. On the left - the local site showing files and folders on your computer and on the right - Remote site shows files and folder on your website.

Browse the file or folder on the local site you want to upload, right click on it and click Upload. Note: Make sure you are at the right location on the Remote site where you want to upload the file.


Let's take an example- if you want to upload a plugin to your WordPress website.
  • Download the plugin. Extract it if it's a zip file.
  • Plugins are always uploaded to the plugin folder. On Remote site column, navigate to wp-content > plugins.
  • Upload the downloaded plugin folder into wp-content/plugins folder.
  • The plugin will be installed.

You can find this information in the email sent to you by your hosting provider when you purchased the hosting. You can also find your FTP account information in the cPanel dashboard.

Step #2: Download the latest version of the plugin you are going to update. All free plugins can be downloaded from Plugin page. Search the name of the plugin here, and hit the download button on the Plugin page.

Step #4: Now open FileZilla, Connect your website using the FTP username and password. Enter your website URL in the host field. Click Quickconnect.

Step #5: On the right side, navigate to wp-content > plugins. Here, you'll see all your installed plugin folders. Right-Click on the plugin, you want to update and click Rename. Rename the plugin by adding "-old" to the folder name. Ex- contact-form-old.
